My first cousin, Belle, is planning a trip to the US. She's actually going over to be a bridesmaid for an ex-college-mate. The wedding will be end of March and she's all excited at the prospect of seeing her close-friend and visiting US again and being a bridesmaid, naturally. But I think her excitement stretches further than that. She's a big, big fan of rodeo having gone to college in Texas and helping out in cattle ranches during her vacation.
She told me she wanted to see the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas last November and was all set to buy the PBR Finals tickets but due to work commitment, she had to cancel her plan. But she's not going to miss this one in Houston.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will start from February 27 and end on March 18, just perfect timing for her visit to Houston. There'd be lots of events throughout the three weeks. There'd be concert entertainment, a wine show, a World Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, a carnival, the Rodeo Parade and Rodeo Run among others. She'd have a whale of a time shopping and dining too. What excitement!
Of course, the one event she will not miss is the Rodeo. Did you know that RodeoHouston is the world's richest regular-season PRCA rodeo? Champion cowboys and cowgirls will be competing for a total rodeo purse of $1.275 million, an increase of more than half a million dollars over previous years.
My cousin sure doesn't want to be disappointed so she'll be making advanced bookings for tickets. She'd better act now as tickets for this Houston Rodeo might be selling as hot as the PBR tickets Las Vegas.
