If you are somewhere in the south of Peninsula Malaysia, Johor Bahru, to be exact, you may want to visit this floating bookshop that is currently docked at the Pasir Gudang ferry terminal.
The Doulos is no ordinary ship — it has a bookshop onboard, giving it the nickname “the floating bookshop”. Built in 1914, the MV Doulos is the world’s oldest passenger liner.
The vessel has sailed to 600 ports in more than 100 countries over the past 31 years, bringing books all over the world. It has a crew of 320 people from 50 countries.
During its stop in Johor, this is its sixth time, the MV Doulos will be open to the public until Oct 6.
Opening times are from 10.30am-10pm (Tuesday-Saturday) and 2pm-10pm (Sunday and Monday). Admission is RM1.
“Discover Doulos” open day exhibitions will be held on Sept 27 and Oct 4 from 3pm to 6pm.
