We will soon see vehicle registration number plates bearing the prefix "WWW" on the road. Hundreds of people turned up at three Road Transport Department (JPJ) branches here in Kuala Lumpur to bid for “WWW” vehicle registration numbers when the series opened for tender.
The minimum bid for “premium” numbers (from 1 to 10) and “attractive numbers” are RM10,000 and RM2,000 respectively. Popular and running numbers require a minimum bid of RM300.
Two years ago MCA1 was sold for RM300,100 and the highest bid before that was for the Terengganu-issued TAY1 which sold for RM232,000.
Bidding for the "WWW" series is open until noon on May 14. Results will be announced on May 24.
