PPP Direct - The Better New Kid in Town

Woot! I tell you, PPP is getting better and better! PayPerPost has just launched their PPP Direct! - an added program for you to get paid to blog.

PPP Direct basically means that advertisers can directly approach Posties to get them to write special blog posts. Posties just have to specify the minimum amount they want to be paid for these Direct opportunities and stick a widget on their blog. When an advertiser decides he'd like the Postie to write a review, he just clicks on the badge and make the Postie an offer.

Now, why should you install PPP Direct?! Let me tell you why.

- You get to keep more of the money. Programs like ReviewMe and SponsoredReviews take a bigger cut of the payout. ReviewMe takes a 50% cut while SR takes 35%. PPP Direct by contrast charges a mere 10% service fee, almost 5% goes into PayPal and Credit Card fees.

- PPP Direct ensures that both Postie and Advertiser are happy - Postie gets paid while Advertiser gets his review. For a small fee, PPP Direct makes that happen - no hassle and no worries.

- Ease of Use especially for advertisers as they can use their credit cards rather than going through PayPal as the latter can be quite inconvenient. Posties will find the widget fast and easy to use.

- Tax Reporting is made easy as PPP Direct offers are accounted for in the year-end tax statement from PPP.

- More Opps for quality bloggers in the long run - PPP Direct in addition to PPP.

On the PPP front, the Benches feature has been added. This allows advertisers to exclude bloggers from their opps for a period of time and at the same time allows Posties to remove a certain advertiser temporarily.

Yet another feature that is most welcome by Posties is the introduction of a post reservation period. Posties can now reserve an Opp and take up to six hours to complete it. Before this was introduced, Posties sometimes had to go through the frustration of being told that the Opps have all been filled after having spent time making the post.

On the ranking front, PPP has removed Technorati rankings from the system as Technorati scores are no longer relevant to the PPP system after they have changed the way they rank blogs.

PayPerPost has decided to rev things up a little by sponsoring the blogger awards. Any blog can be nominated to a variety of categories. PPP has set up a new site that allows bloggers to vote on the nominations. Two categories I find interesting are "Most Obnoxious Blogger" and "Worst Blog of All Time". Nominations have been made and voting has begun.

The BloggersChoiceAwards - have you placed your votes yet? The blogs you see listed are all nominated by bloggers like yourself. These are blogs that are currently making an impact in the blogosphere. Voting is on now and results will be announced at the PostieCon on June 2. There are no restrictions. You can vote for as many blogs as you like but you can only vote once per blog, per category.

Besides nominating and voting, the site also allows for comments. Anyone can put in comments to any blog. I think this is a wonderful idea as constructive comments can make bloggers improve their blogs raising the overall standard of blogs.

Voting is easy. Just click on the icon on the right next to the nominated blog. For those blogs nominated, blogger-owners can obtain a "Brag Badge" for their blog. Cool!

PPP's great news to come

From the day I joined PayPerPost, they have been introducing one positive change after another. It was nice to be part of a growing outfit and the best part is, PPP keeps posties and everyone else informed of the changes and opinions and feedback were sought which quickened the fine-tuning process.

There is always something interesting happening at PayPerPost. This time, through an opportunity, PayPerPost announced that there will be some big news in the next few weeks. Posties are asked to guess as to what it is. This got posties thinking and speculating on all sorts of possibilities.

When I first joined PayPerPost, the max number of posts that a postie could take was two (down from three previously). I was happy being able to take most if not all of the opportunities. Unfortunately, (drastic) segmentation was introduced which put a check to the number of opportunities available. As if to pacify posties, PPP increased the daily max number of posts back to three. Under normal circumstances, this would be great news for posties but not necessarily for most as segmentation took care of that unfortunately.

So now, if I were to guess as to the big news that's coming up, I would want for segmentation to be abolished or to reduce segmentation where it becomes less stringent. Advertisers seem to forget that online advertising is meant to reach far and wide and restricting posties would be akin to restricting the reach for their products and services. If my wish comes true, it would be wild!!

It pays to get your PR up

I started this blog because I wanted to blog about Malaysia with the intent of sharing information with people who may be interested to know about the country and might find the information here useful should they visit the country. Due to this putting up information, I have not been visiting other blogs and leaving comments and because of this lack of interaction, my PR has not moved much.

I signed up with PayPerPost doing blog marketing, that is writing sponsored posts but with the new segmentation system, unfortunately, my low PR has caused me to miss quite of a bit of opportunities.

PPP has been putting up really big money opps lately! Too bad I will have to miss them but I will really need to get my PR up to be able to take advantage of the big money opps. The new segmentation system awards bloggers with high traffic blogs. A blogger could make as much as $1000 for a single sponsored post, that is if he qualifies. If you are still thinking as to whether to sign up for PPP, this could help you decide. Earn big money, sign up with PPP. By the way, disclosure is required from all bloggers.

Also...I hear PPP only charges a 35% service fee compared to some other that charges a 100% markup! This means they are taking half your money for every post! If your blog has a high PR, you can get high paying opps more often and put more in your pocket with PPP.
