Today is the first day of the holy month, Ramadan. Here in the city of Kuala Lumpur, eateries are still open as usual though lunch-hour traffic is much reduced.
If you are visiting Malaysia, rest assured that you can still find food throughout the day.
The image above shows Muslims performing the first night of 'terawih' prayers at the National Mosque on Sunday, yesterday. Muslims started fasting at dawn today. Terawih prayers are done every night throughout the fasting month.
The holy month of Ramadan brings out the best in Muslims, with many saying that fasting is about patience, showing compassion for the less fortunate and trying to become a better person.
