Tell Penang’s story in pictures and Win a Prize

If you are living in Penang, or a visitor to this Pearl of the Orient and have taken pictures of the lovely island, why not put your skill and pictures to good use and win yourself a prize in this photography contest. "My Heritage City Canonfoto Contest"?

Prizes worth RM20,000 are up for grabs. Prizes include SLR cameras, printers and cash vouchers.

To enter, participants will have to submit a 40-page Canonfoto album with captioned photos of the state that capture her beauty and living heritage. Pictures could be on food, people, culture or heritage. It is hoped that the entries would “bring Penang’s heritage to life”.

The contest is organised by Canon Marketing in collaboration with the state government. It is held in conjunction with George Town’s first anniversary celebration as a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Canonfoto is an easy-to-use programme that allows users to create a photobook of their pictures.

Entries will be judged based on participants’ fulfilment of requirements, photography skills, literary skills of telling a story with the pictures, novelty as well as layout and design.

Contest period is from July 21 to September 30.
