If you are on a shopping holiday in Kuala Lumpur, where would you go for shopping?

Of course, the downtown Bukit Bintang area where there is Sungei Wang Plaza and next to it, Bukit Bintang Plaza. Opposite these two plazas, there is Lot 10, KL Plaza and upscale shopping at Starhill. Right opposite it is The Pavilion which is the newest mall in town.

Looking for IT products? Head on over to the plaza for everything IT at the famous Low Yat Plaza.

Looking for some reading material? Borders bookstore is where you would want to go to. Borders is located in Berjaya Times Square which incidentally has a huge indoor themepark.

While in Kuala Lumpur, one place not to be missed is the Petronas Twin Towers. This pair of towers is still the tallest twin buildings in the world. A trip to the skybridge at levels 41 and 42 is not to be missed. Entrance is free via an entrance ticket which can be collected from a groundfloor counter. Be there early to be one of 500 visitors allowed admittance daily.

Of course, one also mustn't miss the shopping experience at Suria KLCC, just in the vicinity of the Petronas Twin Towers.

If you venture out of the city, the Mutiara Damansara Commercial Centre would be a great place to explore for bargains. The Curve, Ikano Power Centre and e@Curve, all part of the Mutiara Damansara Commercial Centre (MDCC.

What better time to visit Kuala Lumpur than now where we are in the midst of the MegaSale Carnival which ends on Aug 31.

As for hotels, this commercial area known as the Golden Triangle boasts of a number of 5-star hotels. There is The Westin, JW Marriott, Grand Millennium and Ritz-Carlton. Others include Dorsett Regency, Melia Hotel, Berjaya Times Square Hotel and a host of others.
