Massive 8.7 quake off Aceh, Indonesia

Did you feel the quake?

A tsunami alert was issued after a massive 8.7 quake struck off the coast of Aceh in Sumatra, Indonesia. Tremors were felt in Penang at 4:45pm as well as in Selangor and Perak, all on the west coast of Peninsula Malaysia.

Elsewhere, tsunami alerts have also been issued. In Phuket and Phangnga in Thailand, people have been asked to move to safer ground.
